What’s happening…

Calling all Gardeners and Plant Lovers, Bakers,cooks and lovers of real good food. This year the CHURCH PLANT SALE  and Bake Sale will be Saturday, May 16, 2020.  SAVE the date- more details – next month – Laurie Savery

Coffee Hour – Do you like to bake? Would you like to share your favorite dessert? Or just want to provide goodies for our Coffee Hour after the 10:30 service? There is a sign up sheet on the bulletin board just outside the sanctuary and / or you can call or text Laurie Savery.

The Sunday School Is talking about Jesus’ Parables for the next few months, and the Deacons thought it would be a good idea to have the Sunday School message coincide with the message at Sunday Worship. February 23, 2020, we will be talking about the Parable of “The Mustard Seed”, Matthew 13: 3-32.

Are You a Twiddler? We would like to start a knitting / crocheting / crafts group. The plan is to meet Saturday-time to be decided and work on projects together. This is for all crafter’s and those who want to learn how… WE can work on gifts to sell at the Christmas Fair or for those ion need, homeless… It will be a lot of fun having fellowship. Providing Rides To Church on Sundays:

Are you available to provide a ride to and from church every Sunday or church services or special events? But we need volunteers! Please contact the office if you would be willing to provide a ride. This does not have to be a commitment every week. Maybe every other week? or Once per Month?If you can help out call the office so you can be on a call sheet for people offering rides.

Clements Marketplace, Manomet, MA., If you shop at Clements MarketPlace, please save your receipts. Whenever receipts are passed in at the end of each month, Clements will donate a percentage to our food pantry. Just What is #2069   Second Church supports the yard signs that you may have seen in a growing number of locations are a stark reminder that in 2016, in the State of Massachusetts alone, 2,069 beautiful souls died as a direct result of opioid abuse and addiction.

The signs are not intended to be simply a memorial to those lost but a call for deeper awareness of this epidemic in our midst… … … Please as a faith community, an individual, a family or a business join us in this effort. Contact Second Church for further information or to order a #2069 sign.

FEEDING The Homeless-if you or a small group would like to provide a meal for the homeless  let the church office know if your interested. The Homeless Task force are looking for meals for January through March. You will be feeding up to 15-20 people at Christ Church on Court St or First Baptist Church on Westerly Road, Meals start at 6 pm. Small groups of 4-5 people to prepare dinners and  feed these folks per evening are recommended.

FLOWERS for the ALTER, If you would like to have flowers placed on the alter, please contact the church office or sign up in the narthex.

Wednesday Bible Study:  Studying different Bible passages throughout the year. Wednesday Evenings 7 pm at the church.  All are welcome! Please call the Church Office for Information.
